Vienna, May 2nd, 2010
The first four months of 2010 are already over.
In this period our team and our partners have invested enormous efforts to gain new customers for system analysis and transformation.
Starting locally we extended our technology and services to other European Union countries and to Turkey.
In the global structure of the IT business, we handle the whole world as our market place and with our best educated,
skilled and experienced employees and partners we are able to deliver state-of-the art services to lower the IT costs and risks of organizations.
As we were working at the software delivered to us for error correction and some POC work,
I realized that we have in the PL/1 and COBOL programs comments in 10 different languages.
This shows, the degree of internationality of our company meanwhile.
We are proud to serve in new regions with our technology successfully.
The signed contract with one of the most important banks of Turkey, Is Bank and the successfully completed
POC work with the Turkish Social Security Organization with a very large application and customer
base were two of many important achievements of us in the system modernization market this year.
Another fact that makes me proud and confident for the future is the fact that we gained those technology tenders against world class technology companies.
Prior to those works the project conducted with Garanti Technology of Istanbul(technology organization of one of the most important Turkish Banks - Garanti Bank)
brought to our company the Technology Partner status of CA, the biggest independent Software Vendor in the world.
The generic analysis and code generation capability of our technology gives us a unique status among other system modernization organizations.
As I call it, the boutique type of modernization service in the system modernization market place, can be delivered successfully with our ModelCVS Technology.
The generic kind of this technology makes every adoption easily possible.
As next target markets we will focus on are USA and Australia where we already started some efforts.
With our connections to those markets we will start modernization projects.
As technology partner of CA we started system modernization efforts in cooperation with CA.
In this modernization program using our system modernization technology,
we convert CA internal modernization projects from older CA technologies to the more modern ones,
like from CA Telon or CA Roscoe to CA Gen, which is the state-of-the-art code generation and model based development suite.
We have many related pre projects with European and Australian companies.
Another business we started this year is the delivery of PL/1, COBOL and CA Gen Parsers to organizations.
Among those customers there are software houses, insurance companies and major software vendors.
Our parsers deliver Eclipse compatible models in XMI structure or Object trees.
The companies can parse their PL/1 assets for various goals like system improvement and interface based application integration.
There is some demands for Assembler and Adabas Natural parsers from some customers, which we may realize in the coming days.
Before I close I want to emphasize some meetings and events in the coming days.
Those conferences are selected events by us and can give you new insights and ideas for your future IT projects.
- The first event which will take place in may is the so called may mainframe madness.
This virtual trade show is the biggest virtual show CA has ever offered. There are various focus areas like system modernization and application
development and many experts from the whole world talk about various subjects about various focus areas.
For the ones, who cannot come to CA world in May in USA this virtual trade show offers some compensation.
- The second event I would like to urge you to attend is CA world in 16th -20th of may in Las Vegas.
Our company will be exhibitor and also we will offer a lab session about the software transformation capability of our tool.
- The third event is the Ingres User Association in London on 8th of June.
- The fourth event I would suggest is the Code Generation 2010 in Cambridge UK 16th – 18th of June.
Thank you for visiting our homepage!

Dear customers and partners,
Vienna, Nov 23th, 2009
As we approach end of 2009 the modernization and analysis business grows. The share of the legacy code builds a high relation
compared with all existing code in the market. The companies face a rejuvenation period in any case. This rejuvenation is either
the reconstruction of the existing code or a transformation into another system or technology.
A great portion of those efforts is the re-platforming of systems. At the first place of those effoerts are the social
insurance companies, which want to leave host environments. The escape from MIPS and cutting costs require conversions in
the IT environment. Those changes are depicted in the horse shoe diagram of OMG in the figure below.

|
There are three levels of transformation. The technical layer, application and database layer and the business process layer.
The first one just migrates the programs without changing them to another environment. The second one requires changes in the
applications and data bases, the third one requires changes in the business processes.
With ProgGen we support all of those layers.
This year we made big steps towards being a worldwide acting software vendor. With partnerships we extended our alliance and can
satisfy the needs of our customers in almost everywhere in the world. With our own Turkish company we serve the Turkish and ME.
With our representatives in Turkey, we try to enlarge our customer base at those days. The goal here is enlarging the customer
base in Turkey and ME. We have largest banks and governmental organizations in Turkey, who work with us. The same situation is
in the other parts of the world. We are proud that we have reached this situation. We will try harder to satisfy the needs of our customers.

Dear CA Gen Community,
Vienna, July 22nd, 2008
To make a good software product requires hard work,
endurance and a big deal of technical and scientific brilliance,
good industrial partners who share their real life experience
and a coherent team which holds together until the project reaches its harvest.
Me and the other four members of our ModelCVS Team experienced this reality on our way
from a Skill Seller company to a Technology Providing one.
Our Tool ModelCVS is partly commercial available.
The first component, which is made up of the infrastructural components is called datX
(data eXchange Framework).
This is the core of ModelCVS and includes the Metamodelling Toolkit
and our Transformation Generation software.
It is mainly used for communication in order to exchange data between different complex
systems typically with a high rate of changes on both sides.
Here among others the Austrian Armed Forces is an important datX customer and we are proud of this.
The second component is not less important.
The so called legacy systems of various corporations are integral parts of their IT landscapes.
Those systems are running mostly the core businesses and are very hard to replace since
they have been written thru many years and have reached a certain age.
ModelCVS as a transformation engine is capable of making from those systems younger ones.
During the last seven months we are working with a very important customer - a European bank,
in order to make a proof-of-concept, how their PL/1 programs can be translated to
another more flexible and modern language.
The CA event of year 2008 is the CA World Conference from Computer Associates.
It will be held in Las Vegas, NV on November 16-20 2008.
For us this event is the most important customer contact with ModelCVS Software.
In one session with a European Bank and two other Lab Sessions me and my Team we will be promoting ModelCVS and CA Gen.
Below you see the three sessions of us.
At the same time in the Technology Pavilion we will have our pedestal with the CA Gen Team.
By then the other components of ModelCVS – SWT Generation for CA Gen, UML2 Modelling, reporting will be finished.
I would be very happy if you visit us and try ModelCVS Software.
We expect much success for ModelCVS during the next two years.
Our research and development affords will go on and we will try to deliver a
good robust and useful model transformation tool.
With my best Regards..

Previous Speech
I am pleased to announce that our research and development project ModelCVS reached its third year. The first component is already in use by our testing pilot customers and will be ‘CA smart‘ certified in the following months.
I want to thank to all customers, potential customers and friends for their interest and related e mails. I think that this project will enhance the functionality of CA Gen quite a lot and will position it as the leader of the model based development tools market space.
After having established the core team in 2004 and 2005, we started the main part of our work in cooperation with two Austrian universities in 2006. At the same time in cooperation with CA we signed academic partnership agreements and introduced among some other CA products Erwin and CA Gen as part of the academic schedule in Austria.
The whole ModelCVS project consists of two main chapters, namely ‘Reverse Engineering and Adapter Generation’ and ‘Model Transformation Framework’ .
|
|
|
"Reverse Engineering and Adapter generation" component covers key Reverse Engineering techniques and methods to capture metamodels from systems and generates adapters for Eclipse Modeling Framework with read/accesses. APG has spent much research and development effort in developing software to capture and wrap metamodels. A metamodel is not only very valuable for educational purposes, since it reflects a systems behaviour but once a metamodel exists, any kind of model transformation can be accomplished easily. Models become more and more important. They replace coding, since higher level of abstraction and usage of various code generators in combination release programmers from the burden of coding and development teams can focus on a model level view of projects.
The research on "Model Transformation Framework" by our academic partners continues. Towards the end of 2007 they will deliver state-of-the-art transformation techniques and related prototypes such that we plan to improve and replace current transformation components of ModelCVS by APG™. In the following years APG will continue with research and development in related areas for a state-of-the-art tool integration framework.
Starting with CA Gen 8.0 all these components will complement the CA Gen Eclipse IDE.
Our work so far integrates CA Gen into Eclipse Modeling Framework. This integration occurs in two levels, the logical modelling level and the generated runtime level. This means that in addition to CA Gen toolset many other modelling languages and tools can be used. Overlapping parts of those language’s
domains are kept synchronized. In the runtime level, any desired external component can be accessed and the models can be modified or completely (re)constructed. For example for Legacy Renewal and modification of CA Gen models for testing purposes.
Watch out this site to download prototypes and educational material about ModelCVS by APG. They will soon be available. If you register, you will automatically be informed about new features and releases. We plan to continue our education and information sessions about ModelCVS by APG at the related conferences this year, they will probably be in London, UK and Dallas,TX in October 2007 and in November 2007 in Mannheim, Germany. At the same time APG branches in cooperation with local partners in USA, Turkey and China are in plan and will serve ModelCVS by APG customers of those regions more closely.
Please don´t hesitate to write to me, if you have questions or any ideas you want to share with me.
Regards
Mustafa Arikan
